Vincent Catala lives and works in Rio de Janeiro, where he settled in 2010, coming from France. He became a photographer after having experienced various trades. He is a member of Paris based Agence VU'.

Specializing in long-term, in depth projects, Vincent discusses and contextualizes the bonds between the individual and his space, and their subjective representations. His work has appeared in
Connaissance des Arts, Revista ZUM, Burn Magazine, among other titles, and has been exhibited in various venues.

His project "Rio, an Inner Shore" was exhibited at Paris Photo (by Galerie VU') in 2017.

Vincent is a regular correspondant with Le Monde (both M and the daily paper) for the whole of Brazil.
